This session explores disparities experienced by people with cystic fibrosis, with a particular focus on populations historically underrepresented in CF research. We highlight factors that impact access to care, including global inequities in access to life-saving modulator therapies. Presenters will also share interventional programs aimed at advancing equity and inclusion in CF care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review current disparities in access to care for people with cystic fibrosis
  • Discuss potential interventions to improve newborn screening and access to CFTR modulator drugs for individuals currently struggling to access care
  • Summarize potential community interventions focused on underrepresented populations in cystic fibrosis to improve care
