This session will address emerging issues in persons with CF in the era of highly effective modulator therapy. It will address the need for having primary care providers, as now people with CF are expected to live longer lives and have medical issues that might resemble those of the general population. It will address problems present in the aging population, like cardiovascular disease and cancer, and how to prevent these from an earlier age via lifestyle and screening. Finally, it will assess important aspects for adolescents and young adults as they prepare for a hopefully long and healthy life.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the how primary care provider experience and protocols can help improve health in persosns with CF
  • Address adolescent health issues and how they can lead to health outcomes later in life
  • List cardiovascular and cancer risks in the aging CF population and address preventive strategies
