CC03--Complex Nutrition/GI Cases: Navigating the Extremes and Everything in Between

With the advent of highly effective CFTR modulators, the nutritional and GI landscape of CF care is evolving, requiring clinicians to adapt their management strategies. This interactive Consultation Clinic will explore real-world cases that highlight the extremes of nutritional and GI complications in CF.

Through four selected case presentations followed by expert-led discussions, participants will gain practical insights into assessing and managing CF-related GI and nutritional disorders in the context of both systemic disease and novel therapeutics. Attendees will engage in interactive discussions with a multidisciplinary panel to refine clinical decision-making and optimize patient care in this rapidly changing field.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize and assess the evolving spectrum of CF-related GI and nutritional challenges, considering both the systemic nature of the disease and the impact of CFTR modulators.
  • Apply evidence-based approaches to the diagnosis and management of GI and nutritional disorders across varying levels of disease severity and treatment response.
  • Develop individualized and multidisciplinary care strategies that integrate gastroenterology, pulmonology, dietetics, and other specialties to address both traditional and emerging nutritional concerns in CF.
