This session aims to address the experiences and challenges of people with cystic fibrosis (CF) regarding various aspects of CF care, including cost and access. Experiences of LGBTQ health, immigrant health, and men's reproductive health will be highlighted. Overall, we will explore resources and interventions to improve long-term health outcomes and foster inclusive and holistic care for all people with CF.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize the unique healthcare experiences and psychosocial stressors faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals with cystic fibrosis, and integrate culturally responsive and affirming practices into clinical care to improve patient trust and engagement to improve long-term health outcomes and foster inclusive and holistic care.
Consider systemic and structural barriers to care for immigrant populations with cystic fibrosis, including legal status, language access, cultural beliefs, and trauma histories, and identify resources and interventions in clinical care to improve long-term health outcomes and foster inclusive and holistic care. Survey how geographic, financial, and institutional factors limit access to optimal cystic fibrosis care, and identify resources and interventions to improve long-term health outcomes and foster inclusive and holistic care.
Examine gender-specific health issues impacting men with cystic fibrosis relating to reproductive health and identify resources and interventions in care settings to improve long-term health outcomes and foster inclusive and holistic care.
