In this highly relevant session, speakers will discuss the most relevant papers recently published in the selected topics. Unique to this year, speakers will highlight activities within some of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-funded networks (CF Lung Transplant Consortium, CF Learning Network, and Success with Therapies Research Consortium) and the CFF guidelines development process. A person with CF will share his experience participating in the guideline process. Topics will include lung transplantation, quality improvement, adherence, and pain.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe recently published research in quality improvement, lung transplant, adherence, and pain.
  • Describe the activities of several CFF-funded networks, including the CFLN, CFLTC, and STRC, and explain the CFF guidelines process.
  • Describe the epidemiology of pain and its psychosocial impacts among people living with CF, appraise the evidence base and current practice recommendations for pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions to address pain in CF, and explain challenges and strategies to improve patient-provider communication regarding the lived experience of pain in CF.
