This session will cover:
1. Pros and Cons of GLP1s in order to discuss the approaches to weight loss medications.
2. The experiences of persons with CF who were challenged with body image issues due to taking modulators.
3. Weight inclusive approaches to patient and family counseling in a multidisciplinary setting.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the indications and contraindications to prescribing GLP-1 agonists
  • Describe two challenges that patients with cystic fibrosis might encounter in regards to body image or body weight when taking highly effective modulators
  • Plan a multidisciplinary approach to counseling patients with cystic fibrosis or their caregivers in regards to coping with body weight/image changes
