Samya Nasr, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics, and the cystic fibrosis center director at University of
Michigan (UM), Michigan Medicine. She graduated from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She
completed Pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, Michigan, and fellowship in
Pediatric Pulmonology at UM. She has been leading quality improvement efforts at the UM and is the
physician leads for CF Learning Network and CF Success with Therapies Consortium. She has been very
involved in the ATS leadership including the Chair of Council Chapter Representative, voting member of
the ATS EC, and currently, the Chair of the International Health Committee. Globally, she, has been
working on implementing quality improvement efforts with Marmara University CF center in Istanbul,
Turkey and, several universities in Egypt to improve their CF care. She is certified research coordinator
and has been conducting clinical research for over 20 years. She has been publishing widely and
presenting her research nationally and internationally.
