Sophia Goldman, BSc, is a PhD candidate in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University, working under the supervision of Dr. Dao Nguyen. She joined the Nguyen Lab in 2022, where her research focuses on host-pathogen interactions, specifically investigating the mechanisms by which Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa) evades neutrophil-mediated clearance in persistent cystic fibrosis (CF) infections. Her work also explores novel therapeutic strategies aimed at enhancing the eradication of new-onset Pa infections. Currently, she is investigating a bispecific monoclonal antibody designed to potentiate neutrophil-mediated bacterial clearance of Pa isolates from CF children who failed tobramycin eradication therapy.
