Antoinette Gardner, RN, MEd, BSN, AE-C, CCRC is a nurse and program coordinator at Ochsner/LSU Health Shreveport Cystic Fibrosis Pediatric and Adult Programs. She received her BSN from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans in 1982. In addition, she has a master’s in education from Loyola University in 1997 and completed course work in the clinical nurse specialist program in pediatric pulmonary – child health master’s program at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Antoinette was a nursing representative for the CF Foundation patient education committee between 2003-2006. She served on the program planning committee for NACFC from 2009 to 2022. She has served as a CF clinical coordinator mentor on several occasions as needed.
She has been the CF coordinator at LSU Health-Shreveport since 1987, working with both adults and children with cystic fibrosis and has 43 years of experience working with CF patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has assisted in the training of students in nursing, PA, phlebotomy and medicine programs doing electives or traineeships with our pediatric pulmonary division at LSU Health -Shreveport. She has been actively involved in quality improvement at our CF center and from 2005 until 1/2008 was a quality improvement coach for other CF teams learning new systems to improve the quality of care for CF patients. She has authored several chapters on cystic fibrosis and given numerous regional and national talks on cystic fibrosis over the past 37 years to professional groups.
