Matthew received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College, his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Upstate Medical University and then earned the Board-Certified Specialist in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy. He has more than 2 decades of experience working in a variety of clinic settings before transitioning to academia at the candidate DPT program at Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY. His primary clinical focus includes working with patients who have pulmonary disease and post-viral illnesses, including LongCOVID. His academic responsibilities include teaching integumentary, exercise physiology, mobility skills, management of the patient with cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy and management of the complex patient. He has presented at the New York Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Annual Meeting, the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting and the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference. He specializes in working with people who have Cystic Fibrosis and has served as the physical therapy representative on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Education Committee and the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference’s Program Planning Committee. He also serves as the Chair of the Virtual Education Subcommittee for the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy.
