Abigail Vera, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She treats cystic fibrosis patients at the UC San Diego Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program for over 8 years. This program provides specialized care and support services dedicated to improving the length and quality of life for adults with cystic fibrosis. She is currently the program manager.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Ms. Vera was a family nurse practitioner at QueensCare Health Centers in Hollywood where she provided primary care treatment for patients of all ages. She also has experience as a registered nurse (RN) in infection control at a surgery outpatient center.
Ms. Vera earned her master's degree in nursing at California State University, Los Angeles and her bachelor's degree in psychobiology at UC Los Angeles. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and completed her Advanced Practice RN Certificate in palliative care. She is a member of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
