Dr Bonnie Ramsey is Professor Emerita in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM) in Seattle, Washington. She is a senior advisor to the CF Therapeutics Development Network Coordinating Center and the Institute of Translational Health Sciences at the UWSOM.. She is a pediatric pulmonologist and clinical scientist with over 40 years of experience in translational research and therapeutic development in the field of cystic fibrosis (CF). She was a lead investigator for development of key therapies in CF including inhaled tobramycin, dornase alpha, and and several CFTR modulator therapies. She has been acknowledged for her contributions to CF including the Paul D’Sant Agnese Award (1998), the Lifetime Achievement Award (2013), The Richard Talamo Award ( renamed the Talamo/Ramsey Award) 2022 and the CFF Legends Award (2024) from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Thoracic Society (2014), elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2015, received the Warren Alpert Foundation Prize (2018) and the John Howland Award (2025). Dr Ramsey serves as an Associate Editor for the American Journal for Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. She has been an active teacher and mentor for decades and continues to serve as faculty for the CFF Clinical Research Scholars Program (CRSP).
