Gemma Stanford is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London where she has worked since 2005. She recently completed PhD which investigated outcome measures for airway clearance in adults with CF through a HEE/NIHR Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship. Gemma is the Lead Co-ordinating Investigator for the current YOGA-CF trial which is investigating the effects of yoga for adults with CF. Gemma is the AHP Research Lead for the Heart, Lung and Critical Care Group of GSTT supporting research careers for AHPs, exercise physiologists and psychologists. She has published and presented internationally on several aspects of physiotherapy and CF care including non-invasive ventilation, airway clearance and the challenges of ageing. Gemma is the chair of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society’s Physiotherapy Specialist International Interest Group (PhySIIG) and part of the international REACH for CF collaboration.
