Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth
Caitlin Murphy is a third-year PhD candidate in the Ross and Sundrud Labs at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She completed her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at Lehigh University in 2021. During her time at Lehigh, Caitlin worked in the lab of Dr. Neal Simon assessing novel compounds for the treatment of traumatic brain injury. She also participated in the HHMI SEA-PHAGES program. She then completed a postbaccalaureate research fellowship at the National Eye Institute in the lab of Dr. Rachel Caspi studying the role of the gut microbiota in autoimmune uveitis. In 2024, Caitlin joined the labs of Drs. Ben Ross and Mark Sundrud at Dartmouth. Her thesis work focuses on the impact of the cystic fibrosis infant gut microbiota on immune regulation and the consequences for intestinal pathology as well as the gut-lung axis.
