Jingan Chen

University of Toronto

Jingan (Charles) Chen is a third-year PhD student at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Dr. Bowen Li. His research focuses on developing novel lipid-based delivery systems to achieve precise, tissue-specific targeting of RNA therapeutics. He also investigates novel RNA structures and chemical modifications to advance RNA-based therapies, including applications in gene editing and vaccine development. Charles earned his HBSc from the University of Toronto, majoring in Neuroscience and Molecular Biology. He is a recipient of the NanoMedicines Innovation Network (NMIN) Graduate Award and recipient of the Gattefossé Canada/CSPS Award in Lipid-Based Drug Delivery.
