Wendi Tague RN, BSN. Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Coordinator for Children's Hospital of Michigan.
Children's Hospital of Michigan is a free standing children's hospital located in the city of Detroit. We are part of the larger Detroit Medical Center and provide care for patients from all over the state of Michigan.
I began my career with the Detroit Medical Center in 1996. Upon graduation from nursing school in 2001, transtioned to the role of staff nurse on ou inpatient unit that provides care for our admitted Cystic Fibrosis patients. I continued as a staff nurse on this unit for 14 years before transitioning to the role of Cysitic Fibrosis Nurse Coordinator in 2014. I have held this position for 11 yrs and love the personal interations I have with my patients, thier families and the Cystic Fibrosis community. Additionally, I host the local university's genetic counseling students every fall, as part of thier eductaion which provides introduction to Cystic Fibrosis care.
I am also very passionate about food insecurty in our communite. This passion lead me to be a founding member of our hospitals annual Cereal Drive/Food drive. I am also a avid gardener and donate alot of what I grow to our local food bank.
