Paul McNamara (MBBS FRCPCH PhD) is a Professor of Child Health at the University of Liverpool in the UK. He is also a consultant respiratory paediatrician at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, where much of his clinical work centres on the care of children and young people with cystic fibrosis in North-west England. Similarly, his research interests focus on improving outcomes for people with cystic fibrosis, whether through improving adherence, radiological assessment, or managing difficult-to-treat infections. He is the deputy director of Trailfinder-CF, an innovation hub that aims to develop new and more tailored treatment approaches for CF lung infections, by developing phage therapy.
