Dr. Kajal Gandhi, DO, MPH, is an assistant professor of pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Ohio State University School of Medicine. She earned her masters of public health in health education and promotion at the University of Texas Health Science Center, earned her medical degree, and ultimately finished her fellowship training in pediatric endocrinology at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Her primary research interests include the study of health inequities in the pediatric type 1 diabetes and cystic fibrosis diabetes population through research and quality improvement initiatives, including improving health equity with diabetes technology, and founder/medical director of the Diabetes and School Health Program (DASH), a community-based care coordination program for the pediatric type 1 diabetes population. She also investigates glycemic outcomes with pancreas related diabetes with total pancreatectomy and islet auto transplantation (TPIAT) and cystic fibrosis related diabetes.
