LaShonna Stodghill received her BS in respiratory therapy in 1992 from Florida A&M University. She has been a respiratory therapist at Children's Hospital since 1992. She served in supervisory roles and worked in many critical and acute care areas of the hospital before obtaining her Master's degree in Health Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2002.LaShonna joined the Pediatric Pulmonary Center at Children's Hospital in 2003, where she assumed the role of clinical coordinator. This role involves coordination of care for more than 350 pediatric patients with Cystic Fibrosis as well as coordination of care with the interdisciplinary teams for patients with Asthma and BPD (Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia). In 2007, LaShonna was a part of the CF Foundation's QI collaborative. In 2010, LaShonna became a mentor for the CF Foundation's Respiratory Therapy Mentoring Program. She was recently credentialed in 2011 as a certified asthma educator.LaShonna became one of the new facilitators for the RT Mentoring Program in 2012.This program is sponsored by the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. LaShonna is an active member of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and she is an active member of the Association of Asthma Educators (AAE).
