Yale University
Dr. Clemente Britto is a physician scientist in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) at Yale. He is the Associate Director of the Yale Adult CF Program and the Director of the Yale Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program.
The goal of Dr. Britto's research is to define the role of sex on immune transcriptional activity that drives sexually dimorphic clinical outcomes and responses to therapy. Dr. Britto's current focus evolved from mechanistic work on the role of antimicrobial proteins in Influenza-induced airway inflammation to translational work on airway biomarkers and transcriptomics of CF. His recent work includes studies in single-cell profiling of the CF airway immune response using mass cytometry and RNA sequencing, for which he is nationally recognized.
Dr. Britto's clinical practice focuses on CF, post-ICU recovery, and critical care. He invests his remaining time in the education and mentoring of medical trainees and national contributions to the field of pulmonary medicine.
