Dr. Jean-Pierre is a Cystic Fibrosis Canada Supported Early Career Investigator at the University of Sherbrooke (Canada). He completed his post-doctoral training as a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-funded Ann Weinberg Memorial Fellow in Dr. George O’Toole’s lab at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Dr. Jean-Pierre's lab is interested in probing mechanisms whereby microbes growing as recalcitrant biofilm-like communities are hard to treat during chronic cystic fibrosis (CF) lung infections. To tackle this, Dr. Jean-Pierre's group uses a CF-relevant in vitro community model mirroring the abundances of CF lung pathogens to understand the polymicrobial-based molecular underpinnings driving changes in antimicrobial susceptibility of CF microbes.
