Reema Poonawala, BS, RRT

University of California, San Francisco

Reema Poonawala, BS, RRT began her career in respiratory care in 2010. She started in Houston then moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, working in a variety of clinical settings. She advocated for and helped set up respiratory therapist driven protocols for COPD and asthma education which developed into a passion for patient education. In 2018, she took on the role as Clinic Respiratory Therapist at the Cystic Fibrosis & Bronchiectasis Clinic at UT Southwestern in Dallas. Under the guidance of Dr. Raksha Jain and her team, Reema expanded her knowledge and dedication in working with this special patient population. In April, she joined the Lung Health Center at the University of California, San Francisco as their full time Clinic Respiratory Therapist, working in CF, NTM, and Bronchiectasis.
