Hiroaki Murano, MD, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Marsico Lung Institute, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research focuses on Molecular pathways mediating loss of unique distal airway secretory cells in CF and the mechanisms underlying muco-obstructive lung diseases. Dr. Murano earned his MD in 2015 and completed residency at Yamagata University Hospital from 2015 to 2017. He pursued graduate research at the Graduate School of Medicine, Yamagata University between 2018 and 2023 and received his PhD in 2023. He joined the Okuda Laboratory at UNC from 2023 to investigate small airway pathology.
