Anat Kohn MD PhD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC in Pittsburgh PA. Dr. Kohn completed her MD and PhD degrees at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She remained at the University of Rochester where she completed her Internal Medicine Residency training followed by Clinical Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Boston University Medical Center. She remained at Boston Medical Center for an additional year as a T32 funded Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Regenerative Medicine under the mentorship of Drs. Finn Hawkins and Darrell Kotton. During her fellowship she developed a targeted intrapulmonary injury model utilizing micro-bronchoscopic techniques which lead to a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation ‘Path to a Cure’ post-doctoral award, a recent publication in AJRCMB, and an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kohn continues to study airway epithelial injury and repair mechanisms, cellular transplantation, and has expanded her work into the underlying mechanisms driving the development of bronchiectasis. Out of the office Anat enjoys spending time with her partner and two children, playing ultimate frisbee, drawing, indoor rock climbing, crocheting, and baking.
